2-Day Course on Energy Minimization in Industrial Plants
- 08 Dec 2026 to 09 Dec 2026 (9:00 AM - 5:00 PM)
-
Wisma IEM, Petaling Jaya
-
Managed by: En. Muhammad Alif
-
Organised by: IEM Training Academy Sdn Bhd
- Closing date before: 05 Dec 2026
SYNOPSIS
Process industries such as refineries, petrochemicals, chemicals, and others, consume significant amount of energy. The energy is mostly utilized in energy-intensive process units such as distillation columns, reactors, as well as for heating and cooling purposes. Historically, energy supply system to the plants are designed separately from the main process units. This leads to an inefficient design in terms of energy/heat consumption.
OBJECTIVE
- To maintain awareness of heat integration and pinch analysis as a tool to efficiently generate and consume energies
- To be able to design and evaluate options for maximizing energy efficiencies
TRAINER PROFILE
Zulfan is a process engineer who’s very passionate in solving chemical engineering problems via process simulation, mathematical modeling and optimization, data analysis, and statistics. Throughout his career both in industries and academia, he has been involved in various projects from R&D (process synthesis, conceptual process design, feasibility studies, techno-economic analysis), basic engineering, process plant improvements, and optimization. As hobbies, he has been volunteering to share various chemical engineering applications to university students, being an industrial advisor and field supervisor, and one of the mentors for the robotic program at his kids’ school.
